INTRODUCTION
The Advanced Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound (ADDUS) is a comprehensive 2-year program covering the full breadth of general, obstetric, gynecological, vascular, musculoskeletal, and small-parts sonography. It is designed to produce highly skilled, clinically independent sonographers capable of functioning in advanced imaging environments. The program is aligned with Semesters 1 through 4 of the BS Medical Ultrasound Sonography degree, and graduates receive credit exemptions upon progression to the full degree.

Academic Qualifications (Any one of the following)
- FSc (Pre-Medical) with minimum 50% marks
- Sc. / BS in allied science
- DDUS (Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound) from a recognized institution — with credit transfer
- CDMS (Certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography) — with bridge module requirement
- Allied health diploma (Radiography, Nursing, MLT, Physiotherapy) from a recognized institution
- MBBS
- Nurses/LHVs

- Strong foundation in health sciences or prior exposure to imaging/clinical work

VISION & MISSION
- Demonstrate understanding of ultrasound physics and instrumentation
- Identify relevant human anatomy and physiology on ultrasound images
- Perform systematic abdominal, gynecological, and obstetric ultrasound scans
- Identify normal anatomy and common pathologies
- Optimize image quality and minimize artifacts
- Apply safety protocols including the ALARA principle
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
The Adv Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound is a 02-years intensive program delivered in ODL format, designed to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills in medical ultrasound. Theoretical content is delivered online, while hands-on clinical training is conducted through supervised hospital attachment. The program covers physics, instrumentation, anatomy, abdominal, gynecological, and obstetrics ultrasound. Graduates will be equipped to perform basic to intermediate ultrasound examinations under supervision.
